Saints travelled to Cheadle to play
Queensgate this afternoon in what promised to be a close game after
the 2-2 draw in the return fixture earlier in the season.
Saints started the strongest and after
only 3 mins Declan Rudd opened the scoring with a fine effort into
the top right from outside the box.Saints continued to dominate but
could not make it count on the score sheet and as Queensgate got
more into the game the pressure told when George Shaw put into his
own net with a belting header if it was at the other end contender
for goal of the season half time 1-1
The second half started with Queensgate
dominating the Saints manager made a few tactical changes and with
these in place Saints managed to gain the upper hand and were
awarded a penalty for there efforts Liam took the spot kick only for
the Queensgate goalie to save. then on 75 min Declan Rudd finished
really well from a corner with a delightful flick at the near post
Saints should have gone on to score more but lady luck had turned
her back Saints stayed strong and finished the game well on top.
this was Saints first back to back wins and showed how the team is
coming together. Nick Bianchi Director of The Saints sponsor Arighi
Bianchi watched the game and also chose the man of the match this
was awarded to Jack Draper for a solid performance.
