MACCLESFIELD SAINTS V SANDBACH.
Saints had only 11 men today no fresh legs if they needed them! And boy
did they need them. Sandbach kept Saints defence busy throughout all the
game but Harry, Mike, Josh, Alex and James run their socks off. Sandbach
were pushing forward at every opportunity and were dominating the game.
Sandbach's first shot of many hit the crossbar, saints were very lucky
not to be 1-0 down. Sandbach kept coming and Jamie was forced to make a
good save to keep saints in the game. However Sandbach were finally
rewarded from a corner kick.(0-1).
Despite a good run down the left wing from Louis who connected with Jack
his shot was pushed away by the keeper, Sam also had a shot blocked.
Sandbach struck again and were unlucky when the ball went just over the
crossbar. Although Sandbach were still having most of the possession
Saints kept trying. A free kick to saints saw Jack shoot wide then again
when Sam's free kick just went over. Half time and Saints had done well
to hold the score to 1-0.
Second half
Sandbach came out fast and took saints by surprise and scored 2 goals
one after the other.(0-3)
Saints kept going and were very unlucky not to score from an excellent
strike from Louis from a free kick how the keeper saved it i don't know.
Against the run of play saints were given hope when James hit the back
of the net.(3-1).
Saints goal had given them a lift but that didn't stop the goals pouring
in from sandbach.(4-1,5-1)
A corner from Louis found James and he headed his second goal of the
game home.(5-2).
But Sandbach kept coming and scored again from long range(6-2)
Sam with a long range shot of his own found the back of the net.(6-3)
As did Sandbach again.(7-3).
Saints kept going and Jack slotted home the fourth for Saints.(6-4)
Despite saints hunger for the ball Sandbach scored again and again and
again!(9-4)
