Macclesfield Saints v Congleton Rovers.

Congleton started the stronger side,Louis,Sam and Edward
defended well to keep Congleton at bay.
During the early minutes of the game Congleton hit the side
netting from a corner and had a shot on goal which Elliot saved
easily.
Saints had their first chance of the game,Sam made a run down
the right wing crossed the ball into the box,Liam controlled
well with his chest unfortunately his shot wasn't strong enough
and Congleton keeper collected.
Congleton were coming at Saints time and time again shooting
wide and missing the target by inches.
Elliot's long goal kick reached Jack n in the box who's shot was
deflected by some good defending from Congleton and Congleton
defended well again when the corner ball was sent in.
Saints won another corner Sam took the corner sent the ball into
the box a scuffle in the box led to Gerald kicking the ball over
the line,a well deserved goal for Gerald as he had covered every
inch of the pitch up to that point.
A foul was awarded to Congleton the free kick was taken and the
shot went high over the cross bar.
Congleton were still applying all the pressure Edward,Mike and
Louis all cleared dangerous balls.
Congleton deservedly equalised from a corner ball.
Against the run of play Saints scored again with a strong run
from sam down the right wing,a low powerful shot from sam was
deflected in for an own goal.
Congleton always looked like scoring again and score they did!
Half time all square 2-2. A good half although Congleton were
passing better than Saints they were playing well and holding
their own.
2nd half
Saints made a change in goal replacing Elliot with Joe.
Both teams came out after the break looking for the win
Congleton shot over the bar and Darren was very unlucky when his
shot just missed the target.
On the attack again Joe was at hand to make a great save to keep
the score level,However nothing could be done to stop Congleton
scoring passed him.
Saints knew time was running out and didn't give up, with some
outstanding passing from Jack and Darren this enabled Sam to
level the score from the edge of the box.
Full time 5 mins each way extra time to be played.
Both teams were going for it.
Congleton were first to score in extra time,Saints
kept going Josh hit over the bar,but Congleton scored again
Josh's hard work soon paid off and scored for Saints.
With time running out both teams were both going for it and the
game was end to end.
With seconds to go Congleton scored again to seal
Full time after extra time 6-4.
