Egerton Tatton v Macclesfield Saints.

Saints made some big changes today,Louis moved to left back with Jamie and mike in central defence and sam moved back to right back leaving James to take control up front.
Saints were first off the mark with a long ball from sam to Liam in midfield, some great passing between gerald,James and Alex but Egerton soon smothered the ball. A promising start for Saints.

Marking man for man Saints couldn't stop a corner ball finding the head of an Egerton player and flying past joe the keeper 1-0 ,Saints were very unlucky but heads didn't go down.

With Egerton on the break Louis made a fine tackle to stop them in their tracks,Louis played the ball into the box to Gerald passing between Liam,James,Gerald and Darren made for good football but egertons defence were organised and scuppered any chances.

Another great save from Joe and a strong header from Mike keeping Edgerton at bay.
Saints with a chance,Sam  down the wing carries the ball just outside the box and just shoots wide.

Egerton were attacking at every opportunity, but Elliott in central mid was giving them a tough time attacking the ball and looking for the pass.

Egerton were awarded a free kick a long ball came into the box but Jamie,Mike,Louis and Sam as a team played Egerton off side.
Liam with a shot but the keeper held.

Egerton with a corner kick,Elliott headed the ball away.
Saints were playing some good football and went into the break 1-0 down.

Second Half

Saints again were the first with a chance after the break when Liam anticipated Sams run and fed him the ball who shot unfortunately was held by the keeper.
Saints chances were cpoming from everywhere Louis,James,Liam and Darren all with shots.
Elliott with a strong dipping shot just wide.

Edgerton were slowly chipping away at a very tired Saints side(no fresh legs) and were soon rewarded with a second goal 2-0
However Saints kept on pushing for a goal Sam with a pass to darren who found James but egerton were too quick!

Egerton with fresh legs scored again 3-0.
Saints still showing great team spirit kept pushing,Gerald shot just wide.
However Egerton came back at us again 4,5,and 6.

full time.

the boys played very well today and the score does not reflect how the boys played. With fresh legs i believe the results could have been so different!

Man of the match goes to a well deserved Alex. well done Alex.
