MIDDLEWICH TOWN V MACCLESFIELD SAINTS

Today I would like to welcome LOUIS, REECE, HARRY AND LIAM who are playing their first game of the season for the Saints. Welcome boys.
1st half
Middlewich had most of the play from the first kick of the ball passing was much quicker and Middlewich were first to the ball most of the time. Saints didn't give up and had some good chances, but they soon found themselves 1-0 down. Play continued and Middlewich continued to dictate the game despite a free kick from Sam which was saved by the keeper. Middlewich scored again from a corner. Despite better play from Saints, Middlewich scored again. Saints had a chance next when Josh ran down the wing into the box but was tackled by a Middlewich player. Jack Naylor gave Saints their first goal with a thundering strike past the keeper. Half time 3-1.
2nd half
subs Off-Reece, Alex, Mike, Jack B. on Gerald, Harry, Liam and Louis.
Middlewich started well again and had a chance at goal but to be cleared by saints defence. saints continued to push forward with shots from Jack, Sam and Liam.
Middlewich scored again despite Joes Excellent saves during the match.
Louis worked well down the wing and was rewarded with a free kick when he battled well.
Sam took the free kick and struck the back of the net. Middlewich wanted more and were rewarded with their 5th goal.
Josh was subbed and Mike came back on. Saint then had a corner jack took the kick which met the head of Tom who headed just wide. Towards the end of the game Liam struck the ball into the net to score on his debut. Louis had the last chance of the game and was unlucky not to score.
FULL TIME 5-3
Managers Quote- passing improved as the game went on the team lacked movement today. The Saints will improve and be more hungry for the ball.
