Vs Egerton Tatton.

Cartwright (c), Scott Dinsley, Ben Heginbotham, Kai Loftus, Adam
Leonard, Josh Churchman, Owen Taylor, George Wilson)
The first home game of the season served up an epic at the
Mulberries! Tatton scored two early goals in almost identical
fashion using long balls through the middle and long range shots
taking advantage of the big goal posts well. The Saints were
again not going to let there heads go down and Josh Churchman
showed everyone just what he can do by leaving his marker for
dead time and again setting up goals for Owen, Lenny and one for
himself as well as hitting the post. At half time it was 4-3
Tatton. The half time team talk was easy for me, keep playing as
you are just don't let the long ball bounce in midfield and to
be fair we did minimise this 2nd half. The majority of this game
was played in the Tatton half and every goal they scored was on
the break while we played some fantastic stuff to open them up.
After another goal from Owen we found ourselves 6-4 down with
another free kick on the edge of the box, Scott stepped up again
and scored again with an even better finish than last week 6-5,
Scott then put another beautiful free kick in the area which Tom
met with a bullet header to level the scores, or so we thought.
Seconds later Tatton made it 7-6 and i will be honest I didn't
think it was our day but with under 5 minutes until the end
Lenny made all our days with a cracking long range looping
effort that flew over the keeper to gain a well earned draw,
A fantastic performance with 3 early goal of the season
contenders from Scott, Tom and Lenny's equaliser. Tatton
literally scored 3 identical goals which with a bit of
experience would not have happened, and i can safely say that
the same performance would have beaten most teams in our league.
A point on the board for the lads in our preliminary group is a
good start from our tough fixtures.
Final score Saints 7 - 7 Egerton Tatton.
