MACCLESFIELD SAINTS V BARNTON
As always Saints got off to a good start when Sam hit the woodwork within minutes.
Barnton applied pressure and Saints found themselves having to defend time and time again, Reece remained strong at the back allowing goalkeeper Joe to save Barnton's first shot.
Barnton were beginning to out play Saints with their passing and sheer determination.
Against the run of play Saints scored when Jack one on one with the keeper showed his skill and hit the back of the net.1-0
Mike, Harry, James and Reece found themselves under pressure and worked hard at the back and were lucky Barnton didn't score.
Barnton scored with a corner.1-1
Saints were struggling and were second to the ball and not clearing dangerous balls.
Saints next chance came from a corner Jack sent the ball in, Louie shot but his shot was blocked.
Saints were kept busy as both Mike and Harry had to clear the ball off the line.
Louie and Jamie were next with shots at goal but again they were blocked by some strong defending from Barnton.
Saints were under pressure and were not playing their best despite Eddies loud words of encouragement.
Confusion in the box lead to Barnton scoring.1-2. Shortly followed by another when a penalty was awarded. 3-1.
Alex and Jack B worked hard trying to out run Barnton but Barnton were the stronger side and scored again 4-1.
Just before half time Louie had his best shot of the game he positioned himself on the wing in space Jack sent the ball out to him, Louie shot and rattled the crossbar.

2ND HALF
Kick off and Barnton took advantage of a slower Saints side and scored again 5-1.
Every time Barnton got the ball they seemed to score!
Josh was next to shoot when he used his height and strength to pass player after player layed the ball onto Jack who's shot was blocked. Players and spectators were sure their was no way back into this match.
A long dipping shot from Sam added to Saints only goal. 6-2.
This lifted the boys and they started to play football the way we new they could play. Louis shot but went wide, then both Louie and Liam were both involved in Sam's second goal of the game 6-3.
GK Joe made an excellent save keeping the score at 6-3.
Saints were having more play but Barnton still looked dangerous and an unlucky own goal was conceded by Saints. 7-3.
Saints knew time was running out and were taking control and shooting at every opportunity Liam's first shot was blocked but minutes later struck the back of the net.7-4.
Gerald had the next shot but the keeper held, Jack was next to add to Saints goal tally with help from Louie who made a great run down the wing sending the ball in.7-5.
With seconds to go barnton handballed in the box and Jack calmly took the penalty awarded to bring the final score to 7-6.
