Tytherington v Macclesfield Saints

Saints travelled to Congleton today to play in a local derby. At their last meeting Saints won just 1-0 and had to improve on their overall performance.

Saints kicked off and started very strong taking Tytherington by surprise, within minutes Saints had scored with a long ball from Josh to Sam who knocked it to an unmarked Jack who calmly put the ball away.

From the outset Saints were playing well passing the ball and controlling the game. Mike worked hard down the right wing and showed great skill and determination and won ball after ball.

Saints continued to control the game and Jack had a shot but the keeper held. Tytherington pushed their players up when they won a corner but defenders cleared the ball well and soon passed the ball up to allow Liam a shot on goal which was blocked.

From a goal kick Tytherington made a run Josh cleared the danger forcing a corner, Tytherington shot just over the bar.

Sam was next to strike but his shot went just wide, followed by a great chance for Jack who was deemed to be off side.

Tytherington were not a threat but still found themselves able to shoot Joe continued as usual to block or save anything Tytherington had.

The build up started early for Saints next goal with an excellent show of skill and determination when Louis won the ball giving a throw in to Saints, Edwards long ball then found Sam who shot the ball across the pitch to Mike who controlled and forced a throw into Saints, a quick throw in from Alex found Liam who flicked the ball on finding the bottom corner of the net 2-0 up.

Saints lapse in concentration led to Tytheringtons first goal Joes excellent reaction pushed away the first shot but nothing could be done to stop the deflected shot.

Saints heads didn't go down after Tytheringtons goal it made them more focussed and determined and more shots on goal followed, Liam shot just wide. Saints next goal involved Liam again he spotted an unmarked Jack just outside the box Jack controlled the ball and found himself one on one with the keeper and as usual calmly put the ball away. 3-1 up.

Saints kept testing Tytheringtons keeper ,a long ball from Sam was sent in the box Alex's shot went just wide. Saints were dominating the game and all players were working well together. Saints 4th goal was an excellent long ball from Jamie who found Sam who controlled the ball with his head then coolly struck on the volley dipping the keeper. 4-1.

Tytheringtons keeper was kept busy when more shots from Joe and Jack followed. Tytherington on the rare occasion that they were a threat tested Joe a few times but he continued to pull off some excellent saves and when he found himself one on one with a player pushed the shot away.

2ND HALF

Tytherington started well and had an early shot only to be saved by Joe. Confusion in the box gave Josh his goal .5-1.

A very very soft penalty was given to Tytherington although Joe mad an excellent save he couldn't save the rebound 5-2.

Saints hadn't finished their goal tally and wanted more this was possible because of the likes of Harry, James, Reece and Jack B who all held their positions and supported each other throughout the game. Sam scored his second of the match and Saints 6th of the match with a run down the wing and a long shot, closely followed by Gerald when Jacks shot was pushed away and Gerald knocked the ball back in.

With minutes to go Saints last chance of the game came when Louis made a great run down the wing shot and his ball rolled along the goal mouth so unlucky.(its coming Louis!).

full time AN AMAZING 7-2 WIN. M-O-M SAM WILSON.

Please can I apologise if I have got any of today's match details wrong or missed anybody off, my only excuse is I was so engrossed in the fantastic game of football that I was privileged to watch today that I forgot to write anything down. Well done lads.
