Cuddington v Macclesfield Saints
Team:- James, Josh, Edward, Reece, Liam, Mike, Harry, Sam, Jack N, Joe.
Subs:- Louie, Gerald and Jack B.
First Half
Saints found themselves playing against the wind today as Cuddington used it to their advantage. Play was pretty even in the early part of the game. Cuddington had the first effort of the game with a great skilled effort only to be saved by Joe. Cuddington put pressure on the Saints and soon went 1-0 down.
Saints responded from the kick off and forced a corner only to be cleared away.
Cuddington hit the back of the net again from a corner when they played the short ball.
Saint were very unlucky when the ref gave away a very harsh penalty to Cuddington which they took and scored.
Saint kept battling but it wasn't their day and an own goal was scored in a goal mouth scramble. Cuddington were 4-0 up.
Saints heads were lifted with words of encouragement from both Edward and Reece.
Saints took control when Liam worked hard and took the ball all the way down the wing crossed to Tom who had a great shot but was deflected out for Jack to finish. Saint went into half time 4-1 down.
Second half
Saints started the second half well with the wind behind them trying to use it to their advantage Saints had Great periods of passing play. Jack N had a shot as did Sam but caught well by the keeper.
Confusion in defence gave Cuddington another goal. Saints didn't give up and were rewarded with a goal when Cuddinton had a goal kick which Sam was waiting for and sent it straight back in dipping the keeper. Saints kept trying and more shots came from Josh who hit the woodwork, Gerald, Mike, Tom, Sam and Jack but without reward.
With time running out Saints improved and Louie worked hard to send the ball in the box.
Scramble in the box gave saints another goal when Josh kicked it over the line..With the score 5-3 the final whistle blew! If only we had more time who knows!!!!
