Barnton v Macclesfield Saints
Saints travelled to Barnton today to face a side currently below us in
the league table.
Saints made a strong start and soon had the first shot of the game from
Jack N which the keeper held well.
Barnton next had a chance but a great tackle from Sam cleared the
danger. Jack and Sam worked hard together passing and collecting great
balls from both Liam, Gerald and Louis.
Barnton on the break had a great shot but keeper Joes quick reflexes
saved with his feet to send the ball wide.
Barnton kept the pressure on. Harry worked hard at the back and
chased every ball.
Barnton attacked again and this time it was mike who blocked the shot.
Saints were working so hard passing the ball. Alex and Gerald were next
to shoot but were unlucky not to score.
Saints were awarded a corner, Sam took and found Jack who crossed the
ball to Gerald who missed connecting with the ball by inches. Saints
were showing improved skills, determination and teamwork. Next Sam took
a free kick but shot wide when he lost his footing on a very soft pitch.
Reece came on for Mike and battled well from the onset.
Liam worked hard and sent an excellent ball into the box Louis shot just
wide , great play from the lads.
Barnton took a goal kick this ball found the foot of Liam and he sent
the ball back in and keeper only just held. Possession was all saints
and they were finally rewarded with a goal from a corner kick from Jack.
Jack B came on for Sam.

second half
Barnton came out for the second half with a different attitude. Barnton
had all the play and if it hadn't been for Joe would have scored again
and again.
Barnton were soon rewarded by there determination and scored.
Barnton continued to push forward and scored again.
Saints were not playing as well as the first half.
despite more saves from Joe Barnton scored again.
Saints picked up a little and Louis had a shot but keeper held.
Saints went down by another goal.
Josh grabbed a consolation goal towards the end of the game.
