Witton Albion v Macc Saints
Whites: Lewis Forshaw, Ben Heginbotham, Kai Greasby , Scott Dinsley, Tom Cawley(c), James Wright, George Crowley, Leon Jackson, Joe Heginbotham
The Whites put in a much improved performance and were genuinely unlucky not to win the game. Ben and Tom worked much better as a unit at the back, James and Kai both worked hard in the midfield and as any spectator will tell you, Witton only had three chances in this game two of which were gifts. Kai sprung their defence three times alone and only there man of the match (goalkeeper) kept them in it. Scott eventually got us a consolation goal with a well taken effort but it was a case of what might have been.
The whites need to persevere and continue there improvement and they will win more than they lose.
Player of the Match: Leon Jackson
Blues: Callum Bailey, Harry Nesbit, Daniel Tute, Patrick Swallow, Adam Cartwright, Adam Leonard, Josh Churchman, Owen Taylor.
The blues maybe went into this game over confident after two consecutive wins and found themselves up against a very strong and gifted Witton side. There was a good period in the first half as the saints kept the ball and made some nice passing play but couldn't create any real chances.
The second half was disappointing though as heads went down and only hard work from Player of the Match Harry Nesbit at the back spared our blushes further. The blues brought down to earth with a bump before the visit of Grappenhall on Saturday may not have been too bad a thing.
