Winnington Ave. v Macc Saints

The Saints fought hard today in there first match of the season, getting to grips with the offside rule and building on fitness and stamina with the extended length of play.

The Saints went down 2-0 early in the game this could have been so much worse if it hadn't been for Player of the Match keeper Joseph Machin however the Saints fought back and levelled the score.

The first goal was a well timed cross into the box from Jack Naylor which connected with the head of Sam Wilson.

The second was a strike from Jack Naylor just outside the box, the keeper got a touch but that wasn't enough and hit the back of the net.
Going into the second half the scores were level but the Saints couldn't hold on the score finished 4-2.
