2nd Match.
This was another great game and a much closer match. The boys were very grateful to George and Edward who volunteered to take turns in goal in Oliver’s absence and both did a great job making a number of saves.
In the first half the team started well keeping a lot of the possession. Tytherington boys attempted a high shot into goal but George leapt to save well. This was followed by a corner from Rhys to James and a close shot at goal. Play quickly moved back to the Tytherington end and with George out of goal to make a save, Ross deflected a second shot at goal. Soon after Luke Cartwright from Tytherington scored with a great goal. Not to be out done Macc Saints almost immediately regained possession and set Alex C up for a fabulous equaliser.
Half Time Score 1:1
Early in the second half Rhys tried to score from a corner kick but Connor, Tytherington’s goalie, saved it. Ross managed to send the ball back to Saints end and passed well to Jamie Dook who missed the R side of the goal by millimetres. This was followed by a spell of play at Tytherington’s end and a number of good saves by Edward. Al and Alex played well in midfield and up front but some good defence from Tytherington by Charlie and Griff and a solid Goalie denied Saints any further goals.
Full Time Score 1:1
