Macclesfield Saints JFC looked resplendent today in fabulous new sports jackets. Ever since the club was formed Rustic and Rural Landscape Services have kindly sponsored the lads football strips. Today we looked equally as smart off the field with the entire team wearing navy jackets, personalised with the boy’s initials. These have been sponsored by WJJ Supplies Ltd. Many thanks to both our sponsors.
Score 2:2
It was great to see Joseph return to match fitness this week in goals. The first half saw some great passing play by Cuddington but they failed to get past Mike who as usual remained solid in defence.
Sam Wilson, Alex Krayewski and Tom Markey all made some skilful runs the length of the pitch beating the Cuddington defence. Unfortunately this great midfield play failed to result in any first half goals with Jack Naylor, Sam Wilson and George all having great shots at goal but missing by inches. With Joseph also making a couple of great saves the first half remained goalless.
In the opening minutes of the second half Cuddington scored a fantastic goal just skimming past Joseph. Buoyed by their success they attempted a second but it was kicked away skilfully by Joseph and soon followed by a very close shot on goals by Sam. Unfortunately Cuddington’s Captain soon made it 2 for the other side with a great goal. Macc Saints battled on however and set Jack Naylor up well for a solo run ending in a great goal. Within minutes he was back, this time with more defenders in his way but he still managed to score to make it 2 all.
Congratulations to the whole team who played well.
Man of the Match – It had to be – Jack Naylor.

James, Toby and Jamie Dook were solid in defence. Reece, Sam Frost and Edward played well in midfield. Not content with great defensive play James also made 3 very good long-range attempts on goal -narrowly missing each time. A fabulous overhead save by Oliver just before the half time whistle kept the score to 0:0.
Early in the second half Cuddington made a skillfull run of play to score a great goal. Within minutes they made it 2:0 with another shot on target. Despite this Oliver had a great second half saving some great further shots on goal. Once again Macc Saints rallied with Toby regaining possession and skilfully returning the play to our end. Douglas Swallow then set up Ross Hunter who fought off a Cuddington defender to score for Macc Saints.
Despite the whole team battling hard they failed to level the score line with the final score being 2:1 to Cuddington.
