Egerton Tatton v Macc Saints 05.04.08

Team A: Callum Bailey, Harry Nesbit, Ben Heginbotham, Jessica Tomlinson, Kai Greasby, Scott Dinsley, Adam Leonard, Joe Heginbotham(c), Leon Jackson.

The 1st close season friendlies were both tight affairs. Team A decided to give there opponents a head start for the second week running and found themselves 2-0 down early in the game.

The Saints always knew they were good enough for this team and roused well in the second half and were rewarded when captain and Player of the Match Joe Hegginbotham went through on goal and his saved effort was forced over the line by Adam Leonard to make it 2-1.

The game was all Saints from there on in and an equaliser was eventually found by Kai Greasby after good work again from Adam. In all this was another game the Saints would have won if they had started better.

Team B: Lewis Forshaw, Patrick Swallow, George Wilson, Tom Cawley(c), Daniel Tute, Josh Churchman, Daniel Dolling, James Wright, Maddy Odell

Team B ensured a win for the Saints as Player of the Match Patrick Swallow played a blinder after the Saints had again gone a goal behind. 

Patrick struck a cracking goal from outside the area and generally held the defence tight until half time, 1-1.

In the second half another well taken goal from Josh Churchman sealed the win although Lewis Forshaw was called upon to make a brave save late on as the Saints held on. All in all a good mornings work.
